For all sophomores, my number one piece of advice is be a nice person. Don't trash talk your classmates or coworkers, don't be rude (you're at the bottom of the food chain), and be respectful to everyone and everything.
In addition:
2) ASK QUESTIONS You're an intern. They don't expect you to know anything. It's important to ask questions so you don't act like an idiot. Don't assume that you know all the information in the universe. You're merely a human.
3) ADVOCATE FOR YOURSELF. If you want to try something, ask. If you have an idea, pitch it. Of course, don't be rude about it but, what's the worst they could say? No.
4) GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE. Like, seriously. You might find that you really like it.
5) TALK TO PEOPLE (I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE SHY, GO TALK TO PEOPLE). It doesn't matter if your mentor hasn't introduced you to them yet, you introduce yourself. This is how many great conversations start plus, you don't feel lonely.
So yeah, that's my list for future interns. Practice makes perfect.
