ProcessWhen starting to learn about each element of art we had a mini lesson about it. Chris(the teacher) never showed us complicated pieces, his examples consisted of his purposely bad art skills. This was so we wouldn't be limited by an idea of what it was supposed to be.
Next we sketched out our ideas in little boxes in our packet. Once we were finished, we received feedback from our peers. After this, we repeated sketching it out and receiving feedback. Before working on our final draft(on the cube) or while we were working on it, Chris went around to provide additional feedback and advice. Then finally, we put the cube together and finished! |
LearningWe use the different elements of art all the time while drawing without realizing it. While drawing out some elements of art such as texture and space it's nearly impossible to not use line. They're the building blocks of art and therefore are extremely important.
Everything can always be better. This is why feedback is important. You might miss something because you're so used to your art so, your eyes skip over your mistakes. However, if someone else looks at it they might see your mistakes and give you some new ideas. Feedback is a part of the revision process. Receiving feedback is good and all but, it shouldn't be ignored. Looking over the feedback and revising your art accordingly makes things better. |
